The Welbourne Library

At Holy Trinity we feel it is important not just to help children develop their reading skills, but also to encourage them in a life-long love of reading.

The Welbourne Library is a fantastic space for children to choose regularly updated books. Our library is open at lunchtimes for the junior children so they can come in and change their books or sit quietly and read.  In September 2017, we are planning to set up a system with library monitors who will have an opportunity to work as librarians and build the necessary skills. Boxes of books are available for our infant children to read outside at play times

The whole school enjoys taking part in World Book Day. Teachers plan activities to be completed which are linked to the theme of the day for children to explore the story.

We have also been very fortunate to welcome authors into our school who have conducted workshops and shared their love of writing and reading stories with us.   Every year we welcome members from our local libraries to share with us the summer reading challenge and show us some of the exciting new books the library has to offer.

Holy Trinity hosts a book fair once a term. Children can purchase books at favourable prices to add to their home library collection.
